Dr Weimin He, painter and printmaker, trustee of the Muban Educational Trust, was the artist-in-residence during the reconstruction of the Weston Library.  His new exhibition, “Reconstruction: Weimin He’s Watercolours of the Weston Library”, is being held at Weston Library from 7 Jan – 12 Feb 2017.

On display is a series of watercolours that reflect the redevelopment of the Weston Library site as well as the evolution of the artist’s style, mingling western media with his own oriental interpretation.

The exhibition has received great reviews.  Sir John Hood’s commented in an email to the artist, “I very much enjoyed our discussion yesterday and greatly admire the beautiful exhibition of your Weston Library works – they are magnificent and a great testimony to your singular artistic interpretation of Oxford under construction; the old and historic, the new and its interconnections. I particularly admired your use of water colour, the building up of the colours and your integration of Chinese hues which are particularly poignant.”
