The exhibition displays a total of 275 original European lithographic prints and related documents. The creators of the prints include many masters from twelve European countries together with lithographers currently active in the European art world. The works include lithographic reproductions of works by Michelangelo, Raphael, Rembrandt and Rubens, etc., original lithographs by Delacroix, Daumier, Lautrec, Kollwitz, Picasso, Matisse, Chagall, Henri Moore, Dali, Miro, Rouault and Zao Wou-ki, as well as important documents such as the lithographic illustrations for Capital in Lithographs. The works cover a wide range of styles and subjects. Following the line of the historical development of lithography, the curator has selected these lithographs from the large body of lithographic prints in Europe to capture these few examples, hoping that visitors will capture a glimpse of the development of European lithography from 1820 to the present day, to focus on the unique drawing and printing methods of lithography and appreciate the diversity and richness of its’ artistic expression.
